Living in a small country community, he was rebuked and ostracised but everyone that he knew so he ran away to the big city lights.
At 14 years of age, Glen was a full blown heroin addict and was selling his body in the Kings Cross area of Sydney to support his habit. He contracted Hepatitis C and many other STD’s. Life was spiraling out of control.
At 19, he was in jail with a 2 year stretch, the first of many that would total almost 10 years in a 14 year period. Glen has finally kicked his drug use and crime and has firm boundaries around what he does and how he does it. He has stayed out of prison for 4 years now. He is focused on building a relationship with his 2 children aged 7 and 12 is studying for a Cert IV in Alcohol and other Drugs (AoD) and is voluntarily helping others that have lived a life dependent on drugs and alcohol. Glen is staying in temporary accommodation at the rehab and has a part-time job but he needs a car to see his children more regularly as getting to them by public transport is difficult.
