Glen’s Story.

Glen just wanted to be accepted as a kid but his brothers always seemed to get the love and attention and he got the whippings. Rebelling against the abuse and beatings from his father, Glen started smoking dope and drinking from the age of 10. By 12, he had progressed to heroin and was stealing cars and breaking and entering regularly to support his habit.

Peter’s story

Peter’s parents came from the Philippines and started to build home and a family in Sydney. Peter had a reasonably happy childhood with his parents and brother and sister and remembers that they were all excited about the new baby brother that had just been born.

Carlos’ story

My name is Carlos and I’m 36 years old. I’ve spent most of my life in and out of boys homes, juvenile detention centres and adult jails. I came from a very dysfunctional family, my mother was a addicted to heroin and used methadone, pills and anything else she could get hold of. She died when I was 8 years old which really tore my heart out.
